The October Discovery Challenge

One skeptical buyer. One discovery call. Best score wins $100.

Run a live discovery call with Ryan Mitchell, a skeptical VP of Sales played by a Quotain AI buyer. Everyone gets the same buyer and the same scorecard. The top score when the clock runs out on October 31 wins.

The call

You get 25 minutes. Ryan decides in the first five whether you get more.

Ryan Mitchell

VP of Sales, Cartwright Systems

Cartwright Systems: 250-person software company selling field-service management tools to mid-market operators.

You are
An account executive at Quotain, which turns a team's real sales calls into AI buyer simulations reps can practice on.
Why he took the call
Your outreach about new reps learning on live deals earned a 25-minute discovery slot. Ryan's 20-person sales org doubled its headcount this year, the last two ramp classes underperformed, and his CRO asked him to look at options.
How he plays it
He took the meeting but hasn't seen the product, and he's skeptical of roleplay tools. A generic pitch gets a polite brush-off.
A winning call
  • Find out what the slow ramp is actually costing Cartwright.
  • Learn what they've tried for onboarding and why it fell short.
  • Understand what the CRO needs to see, and who else weighs in.
  • Earn the follow-up with his enablement lead.

Questions

Before you dial.

Do I need a Quotain account?

No. Enter your name and work email on the challenge page, then start the call in your browser. You need a microphone.

How many times can I play?

Each entrant gets 3 calls. A call counts once it connects, even if it ends early, and only your best score appears on the leaderboard.

How is the call scored?

Quotain grades the transcript against its standard consultative discovery scorecard and gives a score from 0 to 10, with feedback on each criterion. Every entrant faces the same buyer and the same scorecard.

What if two people tie?

The entrant who reached the tied score first wins, based on when Sponsor recorded the call.

When is the winner announced?

We contact the winner by the email used to enter within 7 days after the challenge closes on October 31.

Official rules

The October Discovery Challenge official rules

  1. Sponsor

The October Discovery Challenge (the "Challenge") is sponsored by Eden AI, Inc., doing business as Quotain, 85 Broad Street, Floor 17, New York, NY 10004 ("Sponsor").

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

  2. Eligibility

The Challenge is open to legal residents of the fifty United States and the District of Columbia who are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in their state of residence, if older) at the time of entry.

Employees, officers, directors, and contractors of Sponsor, their immediate family members, and members of their households are not eligible.

  3. Entry period

The Challenge begins on October 14, 2026 and ends at 11:59:59 PM Eastern Time on October 31, 2026 (the "Entry Period"). Sponsor's clock is the official timekeeper. Calls started after the Entry Period ends are not eligible.

  4. How to enter

Visit https://app.quotain.com/c/october-discovery-challenge, provide your name and a valid work email address, accept these Official Rules, and complete a live voice discovery call with the Challenge's AI buyer. Each entrant may start up to 3 calls. A call counts toward that limit once it connects, even if it ends early or is not scored. Your highest-scoring call is your entry.

Limit one entrant identity per person. Entries made using multiple email addresses, aliases, or identities, or by anyone other than the named entrant, are void.

  5. Judging

This is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winner. Each call is graded by Quotain's standard consultative discovery scorecard on a scale of 0 to 10. The eligible entrant with the highest score at the end of the Entry Period is the potential winner. If scores are tied, the entrant whose tied score was recorded first by Sponsor's system wins.

The buyer is an AI simulation. Ryan Mitchell and Cartwright Systems are fictional, and any resemblance to real people or companies is coincidental.

Calls must be conducted live, in the entrant's own voice. Sponsor may disqualify any entry that uses a script read by another person, automated or synthetic voice, recorded audio, tampering with the call or scoring system, or any other method Sponsor determines undermines the fair operation of the Challenge. Sponsor's decisions are final.

  6. Prize

One (1) winner will receive a $100 USD digital gift card, selected by Sponsor (approximate retail value: $100). The prize is not transferable, and no cash or other substitution is permitted except by Sponsor, which may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Any taxes on the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.

  7. Winner notification

Sponsor will notify the potential winner at the email address used to enter within 7 days after the Entry Period ends. The potential winner must respond within 7 days of notification and may be asked to confirm eligibility. If the potential winner does not respond, is ineligible, or does not comply with these Official Rules, the prize may be awarded to the next-highest eligible entrant.

  8. Leaderboard and publicity

The public leaderboard shows each entrant's first name and last initial, best score, and number of calls. Entrant email addresses and call transcripts are never shown publicly. Except where prohibited, Sponsor may announce the winner's first name and last initial.

  9. Privacy

Information collected in the Challenge is used to run the Challenge, contact entrants about it, and as described in Sponsor's Privacy Policy at https://www.quotain.com/privacy. Sponsor may follow up about Quotain products, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

  10. General conditions

By entering, entrants agree to these Official Rules and Sponsor's decisions. Sponsor may cancel, modify, or suspend the Challenge if fraud, technical failures, or any other factor impairs its integrity or proper functioning, and in that case may award the prize among eligible entries received before the action.

To the extent permitted by law, entrants release Sponsor and its affiliates from any liability arising from participation in the Challenge or acceptance or use of the prize. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, interrupted, or unscored calls caused by network, device, or browser issues.

These Official Rules are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
