How Embedder tested realistic technical sales practice with Quotain
See how Embedder tested a Quotain simulation and recognized the same technical buyer questions its team hears on real calls.Embedder tested Quotain with a simple question: could an AI buyer ask the kind of technical questions its team hears on real customer calls? During the session, the questions felt familiar enough that Jonah Perry, GTM at Embedder, recognized them immediately.
That is the evidence in this story. It is qualitative feedback from an evaluation session. It does not show a measured change in ramp time, readiness, win rate, or revenue.
This is actually super cool! I didn’t think it was going to be this good... the questions were literally the questions we hear every day.

Why technical sales practice is hard
Embedder builds AI software for embedded engineering teams. According to its product site, the software reads datasheets, works with schematics and code, flashes boards, runs tests on real hardware, and returns evidence for review.
That product context can make a sales conversation technical quickly. A prospect may move from the business case to a question about a board, microcontroller, toolchain, or test process. A new rep needs more than a memorized pitch. The rep has to follow the buyer's question, know when to answer, and know when to bring in an engineer.
Shadowing an experienced seller helps, but the new rep is still watching someone else make the decisions. Live opportunities also arrive on the buyer's schedule. They are a poor place to give a rep the same difficult exchange several times.
What Embedder tested
Embedder opened a Quotain AI sales simulation built from its company and product context. The buyer moved into technical questions that Perry recognized from real calls.
The familiar questions are the clearest result from the session. They suggest that company context can make practice feel closer to the calls a technical seller needs to handle. The session does not prove that every scenario will match a live buyer or that realistic questions alone improve performance.
What the session suggests for sales enablement
The test points to a practical workflow for technical teams:
- Build a scenario around a real call stage and buyer type.
- Give the buyer product and company context.
- Let the rep answer without a shared script.
- Review the exchange with a manager or subject-matter expert.
- Retry the moment where the rep lost the thread.
A new hire might use the workflow for technical discovery. An experienced rep might use it before a product release or a difficult customer meeting. Those are possible applications, not measured Embedder outcomes from this session.
Keep the manager in the loop
A realistic buyer is useful when the team can review what happened next. The manager needs the conversation, an agreed standard, and enough context to tell the difference between a product-knowledge gap and a poor call decision.
Quotain can return the simulation for review and use company-specific scoring criteria. Teams can also use real-call grading to inspect a live conversation and decide what the rep should practice next. The Embedder session did not prove that this full loop was deployed across the company.
What this customer story proves
The evaluation provides one useful piece of proof: an Embedder team member recognized the AI buyer's questions as the questions the team hears in real customer conversations.
It does not provide evidence for:
- the number of reps who used Quotain
- a completed rollout or ongoing program
- faster onboarding or shorter ramp time
- higher readiness scores
- more closed revenue or a higher win rate
- a production integration that turns call transcripts into new scenarios
Those claims should be added only when Embedder can supply the underlying data or approve a documented account of the workflow.
Practice the technical conversation before it is live
For teams selling a technical product, the useful test is whether the practice reaches the questions buyers actually ask. See how Quotain builds buyer-specific sales simulations, or review the wider approach to onboarding and conversation certification.
