Agentforce Sales Coach: What Salesforce Offers and Where Practice Tools Fit
On this page
TL;DR
- Salesforce's sales coach is called Agentforce Sales Coach. Its help docs describe an AI agent on Salesforce records that gives feedback on a rep's deal presentation and plays the customer in role-plays, then checks what the rep said against the opportunity's CRM data (overview, checked October 2026).
- It ships with four ready-made opportunity scenarios, one per standard stage: two presentation scenarios (Qualification, Needs Analysis) and two role-plays (Proposal/Pricing Quote, Negotiation/Review). Admins build more in Agentforce Builder.
- Setup needs Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited or Developer Edition with Foundations or Agentforce 1, plus Agentforce, Einstein generative AI and Data 360 turned on. Usage is metered: one Agentforce conversation is counted each time a rep clicks Get Feedback.
- Salesforce publishes no Sales Coach price. Its Agentforce pricing page lists conversations at $2 each and per-user Agentforce add-ons at $125 per user per month, without naming which one covers Sales Coach (checked October 2026).
- Sales Coach fits teams that want practice on a live opportunity without leaving Salesforce. Teams that want buyers built from their recorded calls, several buyers on one call, or one scorecard across practice and real calls can pilot a dedicated roleplay tool beside it.

How we checked
We read Salesforce's Agentforce Sales Coach help articles (overview, considerations, setup, permissions, scenarios, ready-to-use scenarios, feedback, role-play customization, generative AI considerations, and billing and usage), the Sales Coaching section of Salesforce's AI sales agent page, the Sales Cloud pricing page and the Agentforce pricing page, all on October 26, 2026. For the alternatives we read each vendor's own product and pricing pages the same day.
Quotain publishes this guide and sells AI sales roleplay software, which overlaps with part of what Sales Coach does. We used no third-party price estimates or review scores. Confirm anything you plan to buy with your Salesforce account team.
What Agentforce Sales Coach does
Salesforce's overview article describes Sales Coach as an agent that uses generative AI and CRM data to give reps personalized feedback. It lives on a record page as a Lightning component, so a rep opens it from the opportunity (or another object) they are working. Every session is one of two types:
- Present. The rep talks through the deal and the agent grades the presentation. Salesforce's considerations page says the rep must speak at least 100 words before feedback is generated.
- Role-play. The agent acts as the customer. A role-play needs at least three exchanges and 60 words before feedback is generated.
Salesforce's AI sales agent page markets the same ideas as pitch practice, role-plays "tailored to each deal and deal stage," and feedback "based on account and opportunity data and company best practices."
The four ready-made scenarios
From Salesforce's ready-to-use scenarios article:
Scenario | Type | Opportunity stage |
|---|---|---|
Present Your Knowledge | Present | Qualification |
Practice Your Pitch | Present | Needs Analysis |
Role-play with Your Coach | Role-play | Proposal/Pricing Quote |
Sharpen Your Negotiation Skills | Role-play | Negotiation/Review |
The scenarios use Salesforce's standard stage names. If your org renamed its stages, the ready-to-use considerations warn that prompt templates, subagents and action names likely won't match, and ask admins to rewrite the instructions for their own stages and selling guidance.
What the feedback checks
The feedback article lists the questions the agent looks for at each stage. In Qualification, for example, it checks whether the rep can say what problem the customer is trying to solve, why the timing is good, what the budget is and what other solutions the customer is considering. In Negotiation/Review it asks whether all key decision makers support the deal and whether a discount was offered.
Role-play feedback comes in five parts: a deal summary built from CRM fields, an overall impression that quotes the rep, key strengths, areas for improvement, and two to four next steps. Presentation feedback adds a "Needs Attention" section that flags where the rep's account of the deal disagrees with the CRM record, or lists overdue activities when nothing disagrees.
Custom scenarios
Admins build new scenarios in Agentforce Builder. Each one names an object, a description, user guidance, a scenario type, a role-play subagent (for role-plays), a feedback subagent, an action and a prompt template (create a scenario). The role-play subagent holds the buyer's instructions. Salesforce's sample instructions tell the agent to "always respond as a prospective buyer" and to conduct the conversation "as a live, spoken conversation" (role-play customization). Salesforce also publishes worked use cases for handling named competitors, aligning feedback to a sales methodology, service calls and account growth conversations.
In practice, the scorecard lives in the prompt template. Changing what a rep is graded on means editing prompts, and changing how the buyer behaves means editing subagent instructions.
Setup, editions and limits
Every Sales Coach article lists the same edition requirement: Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited and Developer Editions "with Foundations or Agentforce 1 Editions." The overview names four required features: Agentforce, Einstein generative AI, Agentforce Studio and Data 360.
The setup article runs through these steps:
- In Setup, open Salesforce Go, find Agentforce for Sales and click Set Up.
- Turn on Agentforce and the Agentforce Sales Coach template, and accept the generative AI terms.
- Assign the Manage Agentforce Sales Coach permission set to the admin and Use Agentforce Sales Coach to reps.
- Add the Sales Coach component to the record pages you want, and activate those pages.
- Build and activate the agent in Agentforce Builder, then click Populate Data to load the ready-made scenarios.
Two permission details matter for a security review. The admin permission set includes Manage AI Agents, which the permissions article says grants org-wide management of all agents. The agent user also needs read access to every object it coaches on, and orgs with private Opportunity sharing hit a known error unless they change sharing or grant the agent user View All Records.
Limits from the considerations page:
- One active Sales Coach agent per org.
- Up to 20 active scenarios on any object and 500 scenarios per agent version.
- Not supported on the Salesforce mobile app.
- Admins can create coaching scenarios only if the org language is English. Scenarios in other languages are added through Translation Workbench.
- Knowledge articles are not supported as a grounding source.
- Previewing a scenario consumes credits.
The generative AI considerations page says Sales Coach supports 16 non-English languages, then names 17 (including French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Korean and both forms of Chinese). It lists OpenAI GPT-4o mini as the supported model.
One naming gap to raise with your account team: the help docs list legacy edition names (Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited), while the current Sales Cloud pricing page sells Starter Suite, Pro Suite, Core, Advanced and Max. Ask which current edition meets the requirement.
Pricing: what Salesforce publishes
Salesforce does not publish a price for Sales Coach on the pages we read. What it does publish, checked October 2026:
- How usage is counted. The billing and usage article says one conversation is consumed whenever a user clicks Get Feedback after a role-play or presentation. Einstein Requests are also metered, in chunks of 2,000 tokens. The generative AI considerations page adds that usage may consume Data 360 credits.
- Agentforce rates. The Agentforce pricing page lists Conversations at $2 per conversation, Flex Credits at $500 per 100,000 credits, and Agentforce add-ons (Sales, Service and others) at $125 per user per month with unmetered employee usage. It says Flex Credits and Conversations are not supported in the same org.
- Editions. The Sales Cloud pricing page lists Max at $550 per user per month, billed annually, including Agentforce for Sales and 2.75 million Flex Credits per org per year.
The considerations page also refers to an "Agentforce Sales Coach add-on" with a limit of 25,000 user permissions, but we found no price for it. Before you budget, ask for a written answer to three questions: which billing model your org is on, whether Sales Coach is covered by an add-on or edition you already own, and how much Data 360 consumption to expect.
Where a dedicated practice tool fits for Salesforce users
Sales Coach is built around the opportunity record, which is its main strength. The same design sets its limits. Based on the help docs we read:
- Scenarios are an admin job. Each scenario is a set of subagents, actions and prompt templates in Agentforce Builder. Enablement teams without a Salesforce admin on hand may wait for one.
- The buyer comes from CRM fields and uploaded files. The docs do not describe building a buyer from recorded calls, or running a call with several buyers at once.
- Grading lives in prompts. There is no separate scorecard editor in the docs, and nothing about grading real customer calls with the same criteria.
- Voice is not spelled out for role-play. Presentations require spoken words, and the role-play instructions ask for a "spoken conversation," but the articles do not say whether reps talk or type in a role-play. Ask for a live demo.
A dedicated practice tool fits beside Salesforce when the gap is rehearsing whole calls: discovery, the pricing conversation, a buying committee, a technical demo. Our guide to AI roleplay vs conversation intelligence explains how the two jobs differ, and how AI sales roleplay works covers what to test in any tool.
Quotain: Best for practice built from your own calls and deals
Quotain builds the AI buyer from your playbook, past calls and deal context, and scores each attempt against your criteria, with each score pointing to the transcript line behind it (AI sales simulations). Quotain reads deal context from Salesforce, HubSpot and Attio, per the FAQ on its pricing page. Reps can run the full call or start at the pricing question. Real-call grading grades recorded calls against the same scorecard and lets a rep continue a real call from any transcript line as practice.
Team plans include AI buyers in 32 languages, and buying-committee calls with several buyers are available on request (pricing page). Reps can share their screen during practice (changelog). Buyers appear as still portraits by default, and animated video buyers are available at extra cost. The free trial covers up to 3 practice calls with no credit card; team plans are quoted for seats and scope. Quotain has no SOC 2 report yet (its SOC 2 Type II work is in progress) and no SSO yet, per its trust center.
Hyperbound: Best for SDR and AE teams that want a free tier first
Hyperbound's Practice page describes buyer simulations from your product, ICP and messaging, personas generated from an uploaded call transcript, multi-party and screen-share roleplays, and 30+ languages. Its pricing page lists a free plan with 45 prebuilt roleplays and per-user Practice and Perform licenses through a demo (checked October 2026). The Practice page does not name a Salesforce integration, so ask. See Quotain vs Hyperbound.
Mindtickle: Best for enablement teams that want practice inside a full readiness suite
Mindtickle's AI Role Play page describes prebuilt and prompt-built buyer personas, feedback in 25+ languages, screen-share role plays, and the ability to pull CRM data and push skill data back to Salesforce. It publishes no price. See Quotain vs Mindtickle.
Where Agentforce Sales Coach fits better than Quotain
Sales Coach is the better choice when:
- Reps should practice inside the Salesforce record, with no second login or tool.
- You want feedback that checks a rep's account of the deal against opportunity fields and overdue tasks.
- Your org already pays for an Agentforce add-on, Max or Flex Credits, and has an admin who can build subagents and prompt templates.
- Your security review requires a SOC 2 report or SSO today. Quotain has neither yet.
How to choose: a two-week pilot scorecard
Run the same test on Sales Coach and on any practice tool you shortlist. Pick one team, one deal stage and one behavior your recorded calls show reps missing, such as confirming budget before a proposal.
What to test | How to run it | Score 0, 1 or 2 |
|---|---|---|
Setup time | Time from kickoff to the first assigned scenario, including admin work. | 0 if more than two weeks, 2 if within a few days |
Buyer pushback | Two senior reps run the negotiation scenario and rate whether the buyer resisted like a real one. | 0 if the buyer folds, 2 if reps say it matched |
Voice | Run a full spoken role-play, not a typed one. | 0 if typed only, 2 if spoken with natural turn-taking |
Your criteria | Load your own stage criteria and check that feedback cites the moment behind each score. | 0 if generic, 2 if your criteria with evidence |
Retry one moment | Ask the rep to replay only the pricing or objection moment. | 0 if full restart only, 2 if they can start at the moment |
Call format | Run the call you sell: a committee call, a technical demo with a shared screen, a renewal. | 0 if not supported, 2 if it runs as sold |
Real-call link | Score the same behavior on each rep's next real call. | 0 if no change, 2 if the miss is gone on most calls |
Cost | Get a written quote, including metered conversations and Data 360. | 0 if usage cost is unknown, 2 if fixed and in budget |
Record each score with a link to the session or call that earned it. At the end, decide: Sales Coach only, Sales Coach plus a practice tool for whole calls, or a practice tool only.
Frequently asked questions
What is Agentforce Sales Coach?
Agentforce Sales Coach is Salesforce's AI coaching agent. It runs from a component on a Salesforce record, gives feedback on a rep's deal presentation, and plays the customer in role-plays. Feedback is checked against the record's CRM data and can draw on files uploaded to an Agentforce Data Library. It ships with four ready-made scenarios for standard opportunity stages.
Does Salesforce Sales Coach do role-play?
Yes. Two of its four ready-made scenarios are role-plays: Role-play with Your Coach for the Proposal/Pricing Quote stage and Sharpen Your Negotiation Skills for Negotiation/Review. The agent acts as the buyer, and after at least three exchanges and 60 words the rep can request feedback. Admins can build more role-play scenarios in Agentforce Builder.
How do you set up Agentforce Sales Coach?
In Setup, open Salesforce Go, set up Agentforce for Sales, turn on Agentforce and the Sales Coach template, then assign the Manage Agentforce Sales Coach permission set to admins and Use Agentforce Sales Coach to reps. Add the component to record pages, build and activate the agent in Agentforce Builder, and click Populate Data to load the ready-made scenarios. Data 360 must be on first.
What editions does Agentforce Sales Coach need?
Salesforce's help docs say it is available in Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited and Developer Editions with Foundations or Agentforce 1 Editions. Agentforce, Einstein generative AI, Agentforce Studio and Data 360 must be turned on. Ask your account team how these map to current Sales Cloud editions such as Core, Advanced and Max.
How much does Agentforce Sales Coach cost?
Salesforce publishes no Sales Coach price. Its help docs say usage is metered, with one conversation counted each time a rep clicks Get Feedback, plus Einstein Requests and possibly Data 360 credits. Salesforce's Agentforce pricing page, checked October 2026, lists conversations at $2 each and Agentforce add-ons at $125 per user per month.
Does Agentforce Sales Coach support other languages?
Yes. Salesforce's generative AI considerations page says it supports 16 non-English languages and names languages including French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Korean and Chinese. Admins can create scenarios only in English-language orgs, and translations for custom scenarios are added through Translation Workbench.
Can reps use Agentforce Sales Coach on mobile?
No. Salesforce's considerations page says Agentforce Sales Coach is not supported on the Salesforce mobile app. Reps use it from record pages in Lightning Experience on desktop.
Can a practice tool use Salesforce deal context?
Some can. Quotain reads deal context from Salesforce, HubSpot and Attio, per its pricing page, and builds the practice buyer from your playbook, past calls and deal context. Mindtickle says its AI Role Play can pull CRM data and push skill data back to Salesforce. Ask any vendor which objects and fields it reads before a pilot.
Pick the tool for the call your reps keep losing
If the problem is reps walking into a proposal or negotiation without knowing their own deal, Sales Coach on the opportunity record is a direct fit, and the pilot above will show whether your admin can tune it in time. If the problem is the conversation itself (discovery that stays shallow, a pricing call that folds, a committee that goes technical), compare a dedicated practice tool on the same pilot. Read Quotain vs Mindtickle for a suite comparison, see how pipeline readiness works with live deals, try a free practice call, or book a demo with one Salesforce opportunity and see a buyer built from it.
